Food swaps so YOU don't have to compromise!

The general consensus when someone starts dieting is that they have to remove this and remove that, cut out bread and chocolate, and all of the other delicious things that we all love! Well I'm here to tell you that that is NOT the case!! My nutrition coaching is all about implementing more food into your diet, not removing the foods you love!

Rather than removing your favourite foods, we can make "healthier" alterations so that you don't have to miss out. Take ketchup and mayonnaise as an example. These sauces both have lighter versions, which in my opinion taste very similar, if not the same as their full fat, full sugar counterparts. By just swapping your daily fizzy pop or your full fat dressing to a lighter option you can really start to make a dent in your daily consumption without really noticing.

I want to share with you some of my favourite THIS VS THAT food swap examples but before we get into these I want to reiterate that we are not removing any foods. I am not suggesting that you cannot still enjoy the full fat and full sugar options, I am merely offering "healthier" alternatives so you can enjoy your favourite foods every day and still reach your goals!
My TOP 5 favourite SWAPS:
1) Chicken Sausages VS Pork Sausages

2) Fibre One Brownie VS Tesco Brownie

3) Homemade Tortilla Pepperoni Pizza VS Tesco Pepperoni Pizza

4) Greek Yoghurt VS Natural Yoghurt

5) Bagel Thin VS Bagel

Reconsider removing your favourite foods from your diet to "healthier" alternatives. If your diet is restrictive then you won't enjoy it and you certainly won't be able to stick to it! If you're reading this blog then you're probably just like me, you love food, and I know that I certainly can't go a day without my favourite foods and you shouldn't have to! Progress comes when we're consistent and we can't be consistent by being restrictive.
I really hope this helps you realise that we don't need to remove any foods from our diets in order to be healthy. If you'd like more posts like this then please let me know and don't forget to follow me over on Instagram (@the__healthy__blonde) for more foodie tips!
